“The biggest problem in the universe is no one helps each other”

“The biggest problem in the universe is no one helps each other”  – Anakin Skywalker, Episode I

What a great time we had at that last Assembly. I really felt that our songs brought us close together, especially Stand By Me (In C), and You’ve Got A Friend (In B)

Thanks again to our great speaker, Ben from Caring In Bristol. If you’ve got an itch to volunteer for Caring In Bristol, you can find out more  at Caring in Bristol

Ben also mentioned the Street Outreach team who provide a service to locate rough sleepers and find them accommodation. You can find more info at Streetlink

How to eat a pizza and help a homeless person: Tales by the Oven

If you’ve got a dog, buy a dog treat box and help a homeless dog owner: Houndhaus

Ben is also more than happy to make themselves available to talk through any questions or creative ideas people might have about helping homeless people. Ben’s email is ben.richardson@caringinbristol.org.uk

Looking onwards, we’ve got quite a busy month for you. First, on the 19th we’ve got our much vaulted and exciting 2nd Assembly, at Hamilton House in Stokes Croft. Expected to be exciting, challenging and substantially warmer than the last 2nd Assembly we had which was also in Stokes Croft. It’s on the theme of How To Argue and we’ll see you at 10:45 for an 11:00 start.

If you use Facebook, check out the event here

If you prefer Meetup.com here

It’s not too early to start booking yourself out of any other social events for the next Assembly after which we are doing on the theme of Rumours. Now, I’m not saying that we’re going to just do a track by track cover of the Fleetwood Mac album, but you’ll just have to come and see. We’ve got Vicky Anderson coming to give us her talk;

The Importance of Telling Stories – from folklore to fiction to “fake news”

Interesting stuff. This is going to be on the 2nd of April, at 10:45 for an 11:00 start at our old friends the Trinity Centre.

If Facebook is your game, here is your link

If you mostly use Meetup.com, here you go, daddio

Finally, in this email, you are warmly invited to our monthly chat and plan where we organise the next month’s Sunday Assembly. This is actually on a SATURDAY and not a Sunday, our apologies for misleading you. The reason for that was that the day we had planned (26th of March) is Mother’s Day and we wouldn’t want to clash with that. So here is your 2 week warning for Mother’s Day. It’s probably not too late to book a table for her.

So the Chat and Plan can be found here on Facebook, and here for meetup.com
